I remember this day. It feels like it was just yesterday.
This day that I remember was 16 years ago to be exact.
Hurricane Katrina.
And.. on this same exact day.. the same storm that scared the people of New Orleans they are now approached with having to face another one.
The exact storm that drastically changed their lives. They are approached with another.
"Kay, What is unshaken faith?"
"Knowing who He is and what He can do for you are two totally different things. When I became to know who He is only then is when my foundation became stronger. The stronger the Foundation. The stronger the Faith."
I was reminded of having unshaken faith when I came face to face recently with an obstacle that I was hoping would not have came so fast. Gabe had a audiologist appointment this past week and the doctors are ready to get him scheduled for his next surgery.
You see... If you recall in one of my last blogs.. Gabe was supposed to be double implanted in May and, he was not. He received one implant in his left ear.
But... I knew that by it not going My way was the absolute most beautiful thing because God was going to exalt himself so that He can be glorified!
Approaching the same battles face to face can be the absolute scariest. No matter how bad the situation is just remember those moments where He did rebuild and restore.
I remember seeing N.O right after the storm. My grandparents house, the levees, the city full of FEMA trailers.
But.. I also remember seeing peoples houses restored and church communities getting together to rebuild.
Just as I remember sitting in the waiting room waiting for my baby boy to finish surgery. A five hour procedure that was only supposed to last two. The pain in my heart when the doctor came and sat next to us in the lobby saying that Gabe was the hardest procedure that he had ever done and, that he was worried about his face.
Ohhhh I remember!!!
But... I also remember the first time my baby boy could hear and, how he now walks around making different noises because it is all so different for him!!
Unshaken Faith.
On this day.. I pray. I pray that you have unbreakable, firm, unshaken faith.
