Unexpected Outcomes

So what happens when things do not go as planned?

Do we give up? Do we stop trusting God? Do we get angry at God? Do we feel like we made a bad decision?

Gabe’s surgery was a 5 hour procedure. We sent Gabe in to get a double implantation and came out with one. Doctor came out stating “This was the hardest implant that I have ever done... He has just a different bone structure and it was just so difficult to get this one done. I had to end up drilling through this abnormal muscle in his ear so, I’m really worried about his face.”

Alex and I were the only ones in the waiting room waiting on our baby boy. We were nervous on what the outcome was since the doctor had never seen such a thing before. Alex stated “If his face is messed up.. it’s not worth hearing.”

I was distraught and, felt as though I made a bad decision.

I believe that our God is a miracle worker. He is able to do exceeding and abundant things beyond what we could ever imagine. You see, Gabe’s doctor really didn’t think that Gabe would have came out okay but, Gabe did. We thank God! This was a definitely an unexpected outcome.

We thought today would have been our graduation ceremony. We thought we would be able to close this door and, move on. It’s not over and, honestly as hard as it is for me to say this it is the absolute most beautiful thing because God is about to exalt Himself so that he can be glorified.

Gabriel, you are the strongest little boy that I know and, whatever God has planned for you we will be with you every step of the way.
