We are counting down the weeks to the arrival of our baby boy.
It is time to start packing my bag.
It needs to be ready in our closet that is closest to the front door.
When the twins came, we were nowhere near prepared.
This time we want to make sure that we are fully prepared.
We have an idea of the day and the time but, in all reality any day is possible.
I could easily settle here in this space and, honestly, I have.
Everything that I could have ever wanted is here.
I admit that as a Christian I have stopped pushing myself spiritually because I am comfortable.
Growth is and always will be uncomfortable.
My spiritual bag is not as full as it should be.
My spiritual bag is not at the front door.
It has been at the back door.
Pushed to the side.
Waiting for the tomorrows...
And even though we know/I know that we are NOT promised tomorrow...
We still choose to wait until tomorrow.
Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.
2 Timothy 2:15
God is so deserving of our best.
He is so deserving of our time.
Your spiritual bag may require more time in prayer.
Your spiritual bag may require more time in your bible.
Your spiritual bag may require eliminating certain things out of your life.
While packing I quickly noticed that the difference between my spiritual bag and my mommy bag is that while I can place these pajamas, toiletries, baby clothes, and everything that is needed in my mommy bag to be filled....
My spiritual bag has no ending.
It can always be filled.
“But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.
Matthew 24:36
Is your bag ready?
