For Father’s Day this year I bought my husband a "dad" chair.
As most of you may know, my father passed away when I was only three. I grew up with a single mother that did the absolute best for my sister and I. There were many father figures whom paved the way throughout my childhood and two of these were my grandfathers.
One thing is for sure is that they had a special chair in their household. The chair was usually some sort of recliner, dark coloring, rocking chair, etc.. (You know exactly what type of chair I am talking about! The chair you always wanted to sit in!)
My husband is one of the best dad’s out there! (I may be a little bias but, he is!) He truly took on being a first-time dad to twins with such grace, compassion, and strength. He is our calm in the midst of the storm. He is our bible-reading, "stair master"-walking, meal-prepping, praying, “Let’s give mommy a break!” type of dad. Our household can get very crazy with twins! (We just make it look good! LOL) And, boy do we love him!
The chair symbolizes to me strength and leadership. We always knew that the large recliner that sat in the corner was for the man of the house. Sometimes I would be rocked to sleep In that same recliner or, just sit with my grandpa while he told me stories about his childhood.
I pray that when my husband sits here and his role as a father gets tough; he is reminded of God’s love. God Is, Was, and Will Always Be a Good, Good Father! I pray that my husband knows how much he means to us and, that he creates even more memories just as my grandfathers did with me.
