Surrender, Again.

The Bible often emphasizes the advantages of patience and perseverance, but we quickly understand that it can be extremely challenging for us.

If we choose not to wait, what alternatives are available?

For the majority of us, we have no alternatives left, having already exhausted all possibilities.

Waiting brings frustrations, doubts, and discouragement.

Having faith becomes extremely difficult when choices are limited.

Sometimes, it seems that raising a special needs child makes us focus solely on the behaviors, sleepless nights, and meltdowns.

It overwhelms us.

If it wasn't a training session, bootcamp, or fitness consultation keeping me occupied, my mind was always in a state of conflict.

Staying busy sometimes seemed like a way to escape it.

Parents of children with special needs often have many concerns.

We think about their futures, our futures, how others perceive our child when we're present, and sometimes even just how we'll manage to get through another day.

However, God understands... He knows I like solving things myself and find it difficult to let go of control.

God, forgive me for taking on that burden alone when it wasn't necessary.

The phrase "We must carry our crosses daily and follow Him" can be incredibly challenging at times.

Our human nature often convinces us that we don't need Him, but that is a mistake.

A life without Him leads to eventual ruin, which is where anxiety and fear originate.

It’s time to surrender again.

Let us pray.

"Heavenly Father, I come to you seeking forgiveness. Pardon me for attempting to manage this by myself. God, I cannot do this alone. I ask that you enter my life and remove anything that is not from you. Renew me.

Make me complete. Strengthen my journey with you.

Lay your hands on my son. God, whatever path you have for him, we trust you. Not our will, not our way, but yours. He is a blessing given by you, and this is ultimately your story so that your glory will be revealed through him. Grant us peace and strength to endure the difficult days. And God, I ask that you touch those in the same situation as mine. I pray they find solace in you and surrender everything to you.

God, we love you. We praise you. We bless your name. This situation seems impossible, but you make all things new. You cherish these times when we have nothing left."

In Jesus' name, we pray.

Amen.
