In my previous blog, I spoke on how I had went to a retreat for moms with deaf/hard of hearing children.
The retreat had gave me such a fire to keep going.
It always gave me such a fire to keep going when I was surrounded by people whom were going through the same things as me.
I also always loved being surrounded by believers because it gave me a fire to keep going in this Christian walk.
For the past couple of years as I worked in the fitness industry I always found that the beginning of the year was our busiest time.
Everyone wants to start their fitness journeys at the beginning of the year.
We would love for our clients to keep the fire going throughout the year but, there are always clients that just stop putting in the work.
The fire tends to die out around March and April.
The work that it takes to achieve the results that they are looking for becomes repetitive, boring, hard, and just flat out not worth it anymore.
We treat Christ just like this.
We give our lives to Him and, then when once we realize the amount of sacrifice that it takes to be a Christian we sometimes would rather live of this temporary world instead.
A few months ago Gabe was diagnosed with autism.
I did not know where to turn.
I felt hopeless.
Everything that we had worked on for the past three years had to be completely switched.
My fire felt like it had burned out.
I was burnt out.
These past few months I learned that in order to fuel your fire you need to:
1) Develop a strong relationship with Jesus
Once I had invited Him into the process I felt a stronger connection with Him.
2) Pray, Pray, Pray
Sometimes you just have to pray your way through your situations.
3) Trust in His Word.
We can read all day but, if we do not trust in His word it does us no good.
4) Be obedient.
Priscilla Shirer once stated: "You gotta live Holy."
This is God's story.
God's son.
God's plan.
God gives us peace that surpasses all understanding.
I had to realize that just because things do not look like I want it to look or, how it should look does not mean that God isn't working.
He is working it out for my good.
Keep the fire.
